In donating an aged but serviceable and well-loved car to a local ministry to help people who need reliable transportation, I fell in love with some sweet young families brought into the US nearly a year ago from refugee camps all over the world. Due to governmental cuts, the agency that brought them all but went under, leaving the families to largely fend for themselves. I've been helping to provide everything from transportation to grocery gift cards, English coaching to diapers, washers and dryers.
This Christmas, we provided something for Christmas for seven families including fifteen children!
If you helped with that, THANK YOU!!!
First and foremost, these families need reliable transportation in an area of North Carolina where public transit is extremely limited. Getting to jobs and food markets is an ongoing challenge. If you or someone you know has a car to donate, please contact me: Lee.Clark@CypressRiverMedia.com.
Also, many household items and warm winter clothes are still needed. If you'd like to contribute some of those items, after Christmas, check out the following Amazon wish lists:
Note: A local church is gathering "gently used" items for this family. This listing will be updated accordingly.
